MIXAMO Space Battle Character Contest [Update 2.7]

CONGRATS!!!! to me! hahaha I finally graduated!!!! I can't believe how much time flew, so many things happened. I'm just glad that I've learned a lot along the way. :)

anyway, I finally finished the character too! :D :D :D so another achievement for me! I kinda sacrificed sleep in order to finish it on the same day of my graduation, and bec of the scheduled interview with Ladyluck in th morning, but it was all worth it! :)

there are things that I can still improve on, like the hair, the pose, the face and what not. But I think I'll work on my polishing skills little by little and along the next projects that I will be making. 

This had been a great experience, so kudos to me! :))) 


These are screenshots from marmoset toolbag. I did a super quick rig to the character, and tried to make some lighting. I'm not so into the final render, I think there is another lighting or pose that can really make it pop-out. But so far, still, im lovinggg it. :D

MIXAMO Space Battle Character Contest [Update 2.6]

The Last Day!!! Gahhhh! OK, im almost done, just gonna have to clean up the seams, and complete the other maps---spec, emission, alpha.... 

here is what I called the pre-final version. I can't test it in realtime yet but will do once the textures are done. This is rendered in mental ray with no GI  of FG and the shizznits...it's just directional lights. :)

Small Update. I'm hurrying up to finish the texturing tonight but I'm not sure about it anymore. I'm still wondering what kind of materials I'd use for the armor. Are they metal? are they rubberized ? spandex, or what.. hopefully I can figure it out now.

MIXAMO Space Battle Character Contest [Update 2.4]

Last two days for finalizing this Character! Wohooo! I can't believe I was able to get to this stage. So I've done  doing the UV's and have gone and baked the HI RES details to the Low Poly models. 

Here is the test render with the AO+Normal maps applied to the character. :)

MIXAMO Space Battle Character Contest [Update 2.3]

Had a looong break! Finally overcame my laziness and now I have progress! haha!

here is the the retopologized, low-poly Cage that will be used for the final model. (It wasn't EASY! Nerve wracking !#$^&*!!! hahaha )

MIXAMO Space Battle Character Contest [Update 2.2]

I got an honorable mention for the w.i.p. jpeg that I sent Mixamo during the deadline of submissions! 

I felt so lucky! there was a point where I felt lazy and lost motivation to finish this character but after that good news, now I'm working at it again, still striving to finish it. :D

here is what I think is about 95% of the final sculpt. I think I'm just missing some earrings and some other very minor stuff. Hopefully, by afternoon today, I can start doing the retopology. :)

**this aint the final color palette, and coloring for the final version, it's just something that I think works for the w.i.p. presentation now.

MIXAMO Space Battle Character Contest [Update 2.1]

Sooo.. late update. I've been on a break since I have been doing this thing without sleeping and since I dint really make it to the deadline, I just had to chill out and relax. But!!! hey I was able to relax now, and so I'm back. I decided to clean my super dusty PC before picking up where I left off. I was cleaning the fan of my video card til one of the fins of the fan broke. I thought it was ok to leave it like that so threw the part that got off until I hook up the PC after cleaning and found out that its making soooo much noise. It was really annoying. I had to take the video card out to so I can use the PC. That was really saddening. I can't afford to buy a new card right now so I resorted to using the integrated card that came with the motherboard. ohhh well. 

Luckily, Zbrush doesn't really rely on the video card that much so I'm still able to use it. :)
I decided to work on the pirate gun, and here is what I have so far--- 




*doesn't really look that awesome, but its got low priority, and again, first time to do a gun. So forgive me for now. :)

MIXAMO Space Battle Character Contest [Update 2.0]

I knew I won't make it in time for the submissions but, like I said, I believe I'm about 85% done.

MIXAMO Space Battle Character Contest [Failure]

No I did not OC'ed. There really are more things to still finish, the props and the high frequency detailing. I'd say I'm about only 85 % done. IF only I had more time, if only I was not stalled by my incapacity. 

retopo, uv, texture, rig, render, edit, all in 6 hours? Mother of... No can do. XD i failed. :|

whew! oh well, there's always a next time. :) (Hello Dominance War) 
..i'd still update this as much as I can, will finish the Character ASAP. 

..but I'll take a break atm. :)

MIXAMO Space Battle Character Contest [Update 1.7]

Gahhhhh! I'm getting furious!

..think I'm so delayed now. Spent hours and hours trying to get the refined model right, but can't. I just can't get a decent result. :(

been doing this overnight and this is the most decent version i've done...not to mention it's only the neck part, and there are more other stuff to do. whew!!!! what to do?
